BLOG TEXT GUIDELINES

EGHPN publishes members blog texts on eghpn.org. If you have a text that you would like us to share, please check our guidelines below and send your text to us (contact@eghpn.org).

Basics:

• 500-1000 words

• You can write in your native language - we will publish it in the original language and in English (we can help with the translation)

• Be clear about what is a fact and what is your opinion/experience

• The text should be easy to read (if you use scientific language please explain all the concepts and terms when you use them for the first time)

• The writer’s name will be mentioned

• The EGHPN Board will check the text before publishing it on eghpn.org

• EGHPN has the right to correct any errors found after publishing the text on eghpn.org

• EGHPN has the right to share the link to the posted blog on the EGHPN Facebook page

Ethics:

• Be respectful and open minded

• Mention your sources

• No religious statements or hate speech

• Give credit to who it belongs to when using, quoting, or basing your text on the work of others

• No triggering pictures (slot machines, money etc.)

• Keep in mind that the reader might come from a totally different culture

Hints:

• Start with an interesting first line

• End it with a closing statement

• Remember, that the text might be read years from now (write “In 2021” instead of “last year”)

• You can provide useful links

• Use easy-to-read language, explain difficult words

• Use subheadings and listings in between paragraphs
